Ventilator Unit
Here at Valley Nursing, we strive for a high quality of life for all our patients. Our Ventilator Program exists to help people with varying levels of support needs and remains one of the most comprehensive services at Valley Nursing.
Specialized Care
Respiratory Therapists participate in care plans for our residents and work closely with our Pulmonologist to update on resident progress with plan of care. We also offer suggestions and recommendations on ways to improve the outcome for the residents including weaning from the ventilator when medically appropriate.
Weaning requires energy, strength, stamina and effort. We encourage residents to get out of bed daily and start moving which speeds the healing and recovery process. Our facility provides optimum care for all residents admitted to the ventilator unit.

Long-Term Placement:
Some of our patients may need additional ventilator assistance and will not be able to return home immediately. Instead, we bring home to them in the form of our specialized ventilator unit. Long-term patients’ families are welcome here as we provide quality clinical care and education 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The End Goal: Home
At Valley Nursing, our goal is to get our patients on their feet, and with the help of our expertly skilled team…HOME.
Many patients who come to our facility transition home and live a fun, active and full life. Whether those going home are ventilator-dependent or not, we seek to educate patients and families to provide them with valuable tools that will make the transition easier. We will also help coordinate any necessary home-care arrangements, necessary equipment and Home Health Services.
